Throughout high school I wasn't involved at all with my community, all I did was focus on my studies. But once I joined the Boys and Girls Club I found myself being more successful and well-rounded. Not only was I keeping up with my studies but I was also involved in my community. Both through campus clubs but also all the programs provided at the club. I felt myself being more than ready as I was preparing for college. Not only was I able to be awarded a full-tuition scholarship but I was able to participate in several internships. -Natalie Sandoval HWS POSSE LA 9
Los Angeles County Alliance for Boys & Girls Clubs is one of the most important nonprofits of our time. I have been volunteering for many years and they really do tremendous work for the kids in our large metropolitan communities. Their events, competitions and clubs offer a wonderful way to keep kids off the streets and help plan for the future of their members. Time and time again I hear the stories of how much this nonprofit club has changed lives and helped them achieve higher standards of self empowerment. At their events, there are many stories of changes and betterment in the lives of boys and girls that could have gone down hill, but due to their membership and support from the club, have miraculously changed with positive hope for the future. There is not a dry eye in the audience when we hear the wonderful changes and heartfelt messages of support from their fellow members and volunteers that work together. Mary Hewitt has a drive and excitement as she heads this club and I encourage everyone to find a way to participate by donating or volunteering for this worthy and important cause.
Working with this team has been amazing. The passion and commitment they bring to the world is what makes the nonprofit space so valuable. Having met the youth they support and seeing them reflect the values of LACABGC (kindness, commitment, curiosity, etc.) gives me hope for the future.
This amazing organization focuses on children ages 6-18, offering many programs that benefit dozens of Boys & Girls Clubs in Los Angeles County. The phrase, "Children are our future", has never been more appropriate. I appreciate knowing that most of my donations directly support programs for kids but am even more thrilled by the difference they make in the lives so many led by Executive Director Mary Hewitt, every dollar donated results in a much greater impact on the community than I could have imagined.
Look no further for a charity that truly makes a difference on a grand scale.

I joined the club in my junior year in high school, and was invited to do Kollab. This program changed my view on how I saw the world through aspects of social environments to what is like to be apart of a certain job. Also all the leaders there want to help support us students so they keep sending us resources which would benefit us.

The Los Angeles County Alliance does an amazing job working with all of these clubs and bringing young people from across Los Angeles together. The special teen programs -- especially workforce development programs -- provide valuable learning and mentoring opportunities.
As an alum of the Boys and Girls Club in Los Angeles in the 60's and early 70's, I understand how integral the Boys and Girls Club was in providing me a safe location for positive life guiding experiences. We all know that there are pivotal moments in our lives, and I'm graceful that I had access to this club which helped me pivot in the right direction.

In these difficult times we are losing our young people to neglect. The Alliance provides a home, safety, guidance, mentor ship, caring for youth and respect. Please donate and volunteer. It’s the path forward for hundreds of thousands of youth in our county.
This organization is stellar and led by a great group especially Mary Hewitt the CEO. In 2019 they created the Kollab Workforce Development Program for 16-18 year olds to assist them and accelerate their education and future job opportunities. Along with ABC and Los Angeles County, the program has excelled and has impacted the lives of the youth who participated.
The Kollab Program was designed to help build communities and economic growth by investing in youth, so that future employees have the skills to compete and prosper in the global economy. This program explores issues at the intersection of work experience and education. I hope all community businesses get involved and support this most worthy program as it will pay dividens!

One of the most well run organizations I have ever seen. Finally an organization that puts the children and community first. Having witnessed first hand the amount of dedication, time, effort & resources the executive team at the Los Angeles County Alliance for Boys & Girls Clubs dedicates to making every club better, I can say with great pride, that this is an organization that is truly changing LA every single day. Many organizations and initiatives preach about helping better our future and the future for our children. Los Angeles County Alliance for Boys & Girls Clubs not only does that, but works on bettering the present as well. This is an organization that is continually looking to improve the quality of life for inner-city children as soon as they can. Not only are they worried about providing children with a bright future but they understand the need to help the children right now as well. I have not come across too many organizations that focuses on both, but the Los Angeles County Alliance for Boys & Girls Clubs is one of the very few. With so many different initiatives and programs they run for the children, it is almost impossible to not notice their impact on the community. This is an organization I hope is around for generations to come!

The LA Alliance does a beautiful job connecting the 21 Boys & Girls Club organizations covering L.A. County. The Alliance increases the awareness of the programs and activities at the various clubhouses. It certainly helps with fundraising efforts especially with major donors like Disney, Bank of America, ABC7, NBC4, etc. They promote some wonderful Special events that I enjoy attending. The Annual Teen Summit at UCLA will attract over 1,200 teens from all 21 B & G Club organizations. A full day of sessions, guest speakers, entertainment and lunch. I also enjoy the Annual Youth of the Year Awards at The NOVO Theater (LA Live). All 21 Clubs Youth of the Tears are honored. The Alliance ensures all young people reach their full potential as a caring, productive and responsible citizen
My experience has been that the Boys and Girls Clubs performs a needed service in providing a safe facility with tutors for under-served youths. I was a volunteer last year for the Annual Teen Summit held at the Sports Academy in Thousand Oaks. The Event offered wonderful opportunities for the kids to learn and participate in classes they would never be exposed to in any other setting.
I look forward to volunteering this year Saturday, November 3rd at UCLA for a fun and positive event that will impact the lives of the kids for years to come. A trans-formative day focusing on workforce development and STEAM.

We all hear that there just isn't enough time to help. Not every one has time to be at one of the clubs to help tutor or do other jobs. BUT, a quick donation of money or items that the kids can use in school such as ball point pens, pencils, notebook paper or other items that Middle school and high school students use daily would be a great help. While you are shopping for your own needs at Staples or another store, pick up some extra items and just drop them off at your local Boys and Girls club. Keep the kids off the street and help them NOT join a gang with your help.

Boys and Girls Club LA County Alliance has brought so much to so many deserving kids in Southern California. It is so refreshing to see an organization that takes sponsorship dollars and truly spreads it across the groups that make up their alliance. This means these children are getting opportunities that they would not have otherwise gotten had it not been for the individuals that go out on their behalf to secure sponsorships and programming for events, the people that work with the children every day, the volunteers that give their time for various causes and each and every person that donates money to the cause. I look forward to seeing the fruits of all of this labor and love as these children enter the world with knowledge, confidence and the means to succeed.
