Grace Klein Community gives my girls a chance to serve the community and learn leadership and character skills they will use for the rest of their lives!
Hey guys I am a walking missionary currently on my walk across the country here in Brewton Alabama doing volunteer time at Drexell and Honeybee‘s when Miss Pickens came in and said they had food donations for them. I was able to help them bring in the food which was such a blessing and got to talk with them for a moment and hear about what they do God bless you guys
Through serving as a volunteer at Grace Klein Community, I have been able to use my time to serve and benefit others besides myself. I have also gained many friends and a community to call family.
I started volunteering with Grace Klein this past summer. I had been out of work for over two years and was trying to ease my way back into the job atmosphere. I was immediately welcomed like family. The work was hard but very rewarding. Then I heard about a job they were offering in administration. They asked for my resume, I had an interview, and then I got the job. This has been such a gift from God. We work not just as a team but as a family. We truly care about each other. We pray with one another and encourage each other and those we get to serve all the time. This is absolutely the best place I have ever worked. And I get to see God do miracles with food every day!
Grace Klein Community is a Christian Non- Profit helping people in many ways.
Rescuing food that would just go to the land fills, and then passing this food to others who are in need, diaper ministry to help new mothers, and the list just goes on and on.
I thank God that I am a part of this community
My husband and I have been volunteering with and donating to this fabulous nonprofit for over five years and it is the most fulfilling way we could spend our retirement. The organization has a small staff but many, many volunteers and together things get done, people are fed and clothed, decks get built, moms get diapers, folks get help with learning how to help themselves and much more, but most of all, they feel hope and the love of Jesus. The backbone of Grace Klein (which means “little blessings from God”) is a sincere, heartfelt, obvious desire to be the hands and feet of Christ to minister to Birmingham, Alabama, around the US, and the globe. We both highly recommend Grace Klein Community.
I have seen Grace Klein walk out what it truly looks like to be Jesus and bring the kingdom of God to the city streets thru it’s hundreds of loyal volunteers. They’ve fed, hosted and lived among thousands while humbly walking out the Gospel.
Having been both a recipient and volunteer, I know Grace Klein Community is the real deal. I am honored to be part of a community that seeks to serve others wholeheartedly through cultivating real relationships while providing needed resources. Valuing people is their main focus and they do it well!
Volunteering at Grace Klein has been one of the most amazing opportunities of my life. The work can be hard but the rewards are great. The staff is so full of joy and dedication to their work. It’s infectious. The care for their clients shows in the gratefulness of the clients. Service to others is the greatest gift God gives us.
Grace Klein provides food and community daily to so many people. We have done worship nights and host meetings, meals, and events at the community house, provided Christmas gifts in 2020 to 440 children, and currently we have 5 drive thru sites as well as multiple food partner pick ups so they can help us disseminate food (purchased, rescued and non-perishable) to the greater Birmingham area. Now I'm honored to work for this distinguished nonprofit. They truly display integrity, family and community daily.
Seeing the people of our community give their lives away by serving others through food support is so meaningful. The people of Grace Klein Community make me want to be more loving and generously. No matter how old you are, you can make a difference in the world. It is not about people seeing 'what' we do, but that every small act of kindness is done from the heart. Grace Klein Community has made me a better person and allowed me to know hundreds of incredible people who give their lives away every day to make the world a better place. Who wouldn't want to be a part of a dynamic community that is changing the world!!?
I have had the honor of serving with Grace Klein Community since October 2014. Grace Klein Community provides a variety of volunteer opportunities, accommodates for all ages, large serve teams, and even provides host home opportunities for youth groups/serve teams from out of state who have a desire to serve the people of Birmingham. Their staff are a passionate bunch! The office culture is "family." All are welcome and everyone has something to give.
