If there was ever a group that was mission based and understood the need to grow the next generation of leadership, this is the team. Each and every time their name pops up in my feed or wall, I open and pay attention. Masters at connectivity and empowerment, this is a c-3 well worth supporting and investing in.

Global MindED has proved myself and many other first-generation students with an opportunity to connect with potential employers, mentors, and peers from around the globe. Most importantly, I feel GMED has provided students with the opportunity to have a seat at the table and take a deeper dive int he issues affecting student attainment and achievement. This opportunity has assisted me in my professional work as a new Student Affairs Professional. I recommend GMED to any student, staff, or business professional.

GlobalmindED is creating the future of mission driven organizations by bringing all stakeholders together at the table (without rank) to create actionable plans for access, equity, diversity, and inclusion. With a foundation of lifelong learning, the work that GlobalmindED is driving addresses the core of the systemic challenges society is attempting to overcome. This is exemplified in the 100% growth rate of participants from 300 to 600 in its two years of existence as well as glowing feedback from students, policy makers, and business leaders from the likes of Microsoft and Google. I am honored to be aligned with such an impactful and forward thinking organization.

GlobalMindED is about access and equity across the entire education and career spectrum. The goal of an increased percentage of the work force with post high school credentials (certificates, associate degree, or baccalaureate degree) can only be accomplished with increasing student success for first generation and minority students. Collaborative efforts supported by GlobalMindED are required to reach these goals.

The GlobalMindED conference promotes interaction between K-12, higher education, grant funding agencies, business, policy makers, and students in a collaborative format unlike any other conference. CEOs may seek potential higher education partners, or information about developing a more divers board of directors. K-12 and higher education faculty and administrators can promote programs for student success, and students can outline their entrepreneurial success and make career contacts.

I have been volunteering for the last 7 months. From the beginning I was impressed how they do exactly what they preach. They have a diverse team team and they all work togheter to create more opportunities for all. The conference is just the result of that great work, bringing people with diverse background, doing different projects, but all with a similar purpose. All these great minds connect and share ideas that definitely have an impact in their organizations and the community.

This organization is working to transform education by increasing access and equity for students, especially first generation, through the cross pollination of ideas from areas ranging from policy to K 12 to health care to higher ed. It is only beginning and has a bright future as it works toward specific initiatives to support students throughout their education and beyond.

I was fortunate to work as a student volunteer for GlobalMindED the past two summers. Being a part of this event was exciting on many levels. The students were able to interact with speakers such as Michele Welsander Quaid, who shared her story of being a disadvantaged student and rising to the top of her profession at Google, and Jessica Mathews, the founder of Uncharted Play, whose electricity generating soccer balls and jump ropes are powering impoverished neighborhoods. GlobalmindED's commitment to creating networks between students, educators and employers is perhaps my favorite part of being involved with the organization. Both years I was able to discuss critical issues facing our world with leaders from all different walks of life. I have made invaluable connections at this event and hope to be involved again next year.

GlobalMindED is a ground-breaking movement creating meaningful conversation and action that addresses access and equity for all students. Having participated in two annual GlobalMindED events, I've witnessed first-generation-to- college students sitting at the table with leaders from the State department, senior managers from industry, and high level administrators from some of our country's top universities. These intersections of perspective fuel understanding and momentum for change in ways I've never experienced at other conferences. Faculty and students alike were thrilled to be a part of this "ground-up" movement that tapped into their expertise and experiences. As GlobalMIndED continues to grow and impact educators and students worldwide, I'm certain that the ripple of impact incited here will soon become the tides of change where networks of students, policymakers and industry leaders ensure opportunities for all, resulting in a talent pipeline that will fuel our economy for decades to come.

This past summer was my 2nd GlobalMindEd conference and I was thrilled to participate. The conference allowed me to be part of a group that showed me I don't need to be defined by the limitations of my surroundings. I realized that I have a choice in how I live my life and it's up to me to take advantage of the opportunities I now realize exist.

Attending the conference has given me the tools I needed to go out and pursue the dreams I didn't think were possible. I plan on attending again in 2017.

My name is Wei and I have been interning at GlobalMindED ever since I moved from China to Denver, Colorado a couple of months ago.

I reached out to the team at GlobalMindED to learn about their internship opportunities because their mission – to revolutionize education and increase access and equity for first generation students and underserved populations – resonated with me. I wanted to work with them to help them achieve these goals and soon began working part-time as an intern. As a first generation student myself, I truly appreciate GlobalMindED’s dedication to improving the college experience for students like me by collaborating with leaders in higher education, K-12, and the business world to increase opportunities and access for this group. GlobalMindED also helps students by giving them the tools they need to be successful both in their academic and professional careers. GlobalMindED provides students with a support network and the opportunity to build essential connections with key contacts in the field they are interested in, a critical component for success that most underserved and first-generation students do not have access to.

I also love interning here because of all of the wonderful people I work with every day. They are all amazing individuals who are patient to guide me, the "foreigner," into the "local" business world. Working at GlobalMindED has been and continues to be an incredible experience and I am happy nominate GlobalMindED as my favorite nonprofit organization.
