This is a great organization for girls between the ages of 11 and 20. They grow as individuals. They are given a chance to learn leadership and networking skills. They develop confidence in public interaction. They learn the good feeling of helping others while being of service to humanity and nature. They develop lifelong friendships and a second family. By helping and giving to others they get so many rewards in return.
My daughter has been involved for a few months now. She has had practice speaking in front of crowds, organizing events, and made quite a few new (and wonderful) friends. Her favorite part seems to be the service projects (CHOC Walk & Relay for Life as well as others) where she gets to have fun and help people. She has enjoyed her short time thus far and looks forward to her next seven years. She has been having such a good time that it appears it is rubbing off on her big brother (keeping my fingers crossed one that one).
My Daughter joined "Rainbow" at the age of 11. From the time she was 5 years old, she watched our neighbor girl go off in her beautiful gowns, and began to ask about the dresses and what April was doing. April explained "Rainbow" and had my Daughter hooked. After 6 years of constant requests, she joined "Rainbow". Not your normal initiation, Chelsea joined at the California Grand Assembly, our annual convention. It was so amazing and I had so much fun, that I was hooked too. We went head first, never stopping until she was 20 years old and aged out. During her years, Chelsea learn so many life lessons, that she would not have learned otherwise. They teach everything from how to love and care about other to public speaking, calendering, planning and much, much more. On top of all of this, you make lifelong friends that you call sisters. Chelsea was married in June 2013, and all of her bridesmaids were her "Rainbow" sisters. They are a very important part of our lives. Sure you can make friends in school and throughout your live, but you will never experience such a deep, connection with others sharing your same moral values as you get from this wonderful organization. Every girl is loved and welcomed, no matter what walk of life they are from. I cannot say enough about this group of people. I absolutely love them and am thankful for them, everyday!
My daughter joined the Rainbow Girls a few months back. I cannot describe how happy she is to take part in this wonderful group and organization. Being a giving person and influencing though kindness, taking action by volunteering and supporting good causes, learning life skill such as public speaking and deepening friendships, are just a few of what Rainbow Girls is all about.
I am 11 years old and have been part of this organization for 6 months. I have found many friendship opportunities and the assembly is always doing fun things. I would highly recommend this group to girls ages 11 - 20 !
This is a great organization to be a part of. I was a rainbow girl and have used the training I received in my schooling and career. Now I am an advisory board member and my daughter is learning how to be an effective member in our society. She is a leader in her own assembly and I know she has a bright future because of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls.
I am a Past Worthy Advisor for San Fernando Assembly back in 1989. I was a member from 1987-1990, and it was a great experience. Learning to help others in your community, being of service as it shapes you as a young woman are such important tools, and Rainbow teaches that. My only regret was not joining when I was much younger, as I could've become a Grand Officer later on. Inspite of that, I learned so much, and I am also proud to say that I was also the first Armenian Worthy Advisor ever for that assembly. In the past two decades from leaving Rainbow, I was rather shocked at how many assemblies are no longer around. Even so, Rainbow keeps going, and is slowly growing again and gaining momentum. I come from a long line of Masonic-affiliated family members, and had I had a daughter, I would've definitely had her join Rainbow. Sincerely, Denise T. Dardarian, PWA
I was in Rainbow as a girl--very active in my assembly. I learned so many valuable lessons including public speaking, running and planning a meeting, fundraising and working with others. I was also so happy with the morals and values Rainbow instilled in me. I had so much fun and gained life long friends from this organization!! I am the person I am today due to the lessons I learned in Rainbow. I am happy that my daughter (a third generation Rainbow Girl) has the chance to learn, grow, make friends and have a ton of fun, while learning to serve others! Rainbow Girls have so much fun whether they are doing service projects, fundraising or hanging out! Now as an adult, I so enjoy giving back to this wonderful organization. It is wonderful to help and watch ordinary girls become extraordinary!! I can fully attest that RAINBOW GETS GIRLS READY FOR LIFE!!!! From age 12 to age 20 I was an active member of my local assembly, and since then I have continued to support Rainbow as a "majority" member and adult supervisor. Being a part if this organization has impacted every aspect if my life for the better. I learned so many wonderful lessons and skills that have stayed with me and have made my life both easier and better. I learned how to think for myself, and how to speak confidently in front of a large group of people. I learned how to memorize and give both my own speeches and those provided for me. I learned how to run meetings and how to fund raise and how to plan events. Probably most importantly, I learned that I was loved, that I was worth loving, and what it looks like to love a stranger. Growing up in that environment can have a tremendous impact on someone's life, and it certainly did for me! Oh, and it was and is tons of fun, and a place where girls can and most likely will make life long friends! :-)
This organization has not only been the best thing that happen for my daughter but our whole family. Being a friend, lending an ear or helping girls to plan events, bring such joy to my heart. Rainbow gets girls ready for life, and teaches them what they do can make a difference in this world.
I was a Rainbow Girl when I was younger, and it was the best experience of my life. So many of the virtues that I learned as a girl transpired into the roles I play as an advisor and Majority member of the same Rainbow assembly I served as Worthy Advisor. Now, my daughter gets to experience the same experiences that I did; and as a proud mother and an advisor I share my experience and give back my time with all my girls. If your looking for an organization that takes ordinary girls and make them into extraordinary then check our website at CAIORG.ORG you will be glad you did.
If I could put 10 stars I would. As a past member I can say this organization has made such an incredible impact on my life. I got the opportunity to give back to world in incredible ways. By teaming together and raising thousands of dollars for other nonprofits, restoring native plants, gathering fruit for food banks (the list goes on) it never had the negative feeling of ugh I have to work. I had the irreplaceable opportunity of becoming apart of my community. In addition to the service I gained hundreds of sisters and friends for life. Living in California I have a place to stay from San Diego to Sacramento and just that makes me feel safe and loved. By far an organization worth checking out. gocarainbow.org
My wife was a member of Rainbow Girls in Massachusetts, and I originally thought it was like Girl Scouts. I quickly learned that it provides far more important lessons, that help the girls to feel comfortable during interviews, public speaking, and expands their friends pool by a significant number of friends all over the world. Our daughter has been in the organization since she was 11, and she enjoys the friends that she had made, along with the service work that gives back in the community. I have seen many girls in California Rainbow excel in their education, and receive scholarships for their contributions in Rainbow. All adults who work with the organization have passed background checks, and receive special training for working with teenagers. www.gocarainbow.org
Rainbow Girls is a fun way to spend time doing good for the community with your young preteen to young adult girl. I was a Rainbow girl when I was young and now have a 13 year old daughter in the organization as well. We share the title of Rainbow Girl with actresses, astronauts, olympians, and other wonderful people with hearts full of love to give. This organization helps promote leadership and character in young girls and develops live long friendships. It is a place where my daughter feels free to be herself with none of the peer pressures of the school setting. She also has met new girls she would have never met and done things she would have never done without Rainbow. Like hold a tiger cub. There are just not enough words to say all the good things about Rainbow, the girls, and the adults involved in this organization.
Our first experience with Rainbow Girls was a cupcake baking party. We knew no one when we walked in the door. By the end of the night my daughter was having a sleep over at one of the girls houses. We went to help sell the cupcakes the next day. The following weekend we were at the beach for "clean the beach" day. It has been just over 3 months now and we feel like we have a whole new family. It has been amazing!
