AKBTC Foundation was a great resource when my son was diagnosed with brain cancer. Now, we raise funds for AKBTC with the hope that one of the trials it funds will be the cure for our son. 100% of the proceeds are used for research. It is such an important organization. Please consider donating to AKBTC Foundation.
This organization continuously fights to fund important research efforts that will allow us to better understand pediatric brain cancers. As a result, we will be able to provide those impacted by this disease with more advanced and less toxic treatment options.

A Kids' Brain Tumor Cure truly focuses on what I believe is critical to finding a cure for pediatric brain tumors. Whether it is funding research for less toxic treatments, hosting webinars with the most up-to-date information to share with their global audience, or raising money (Think Fit For Kids is an awesome event for the whole family and I encourage anyone within driving distance of Chappaqua, NY area to attend). A Kids; Brain Tumor Cure is always raising the bar to find effective treatments for children battling pediatric brain tumors.
This organization does amazing, amazing work raising money for a very underfunded cause. AKBTC has been a huge part of my life for the past few years and I am so happy to say that I am involved with the organization. I love AKBTC!!!!!

The AKBTC is an amazing organization. It raises awareness for, and fund-raises on behalf of, much needed research for better treatments for children's brain tumors. They also are a beacon of information, strength and support for families facing the devastation htat their child has been diagnosed with a brain tumor -- providing helpful background, updated treatment information and locations for the best resources for these families. The AKBTC offers hope to future children with brain tumors and their families by supporting new clinical trials to find gentler treatments and hopefully cures for this insipid condition. I believe wholeheartedly that AKBTC deserves your highest ranking and awards.
AKBTC is such an incredible foundation that I am honored to know, support & help raise awareness, any way possible. Their passion and determination to help families who are dealing with this horrible cancer and raise money to find a cure is remarkable.

I have volunteered with this organization for 5 years at their annual Geared Up For Kids event. It is an amazing day where people from all over the Boston area show up to support families with children battling brain tumors. I usually help in the festival area so I get to see alot of happy kids and parents. The volunteer coordinator makes sure to keep me busy and is very appreciative of my help. I am looking forward to volunteering again in 2019.

I have volunteered at six different fundraising events for A Kids' Brain Tumor Cure and have met some of the dedicated individuals who have a passion for eliminating childhood brain cancer. Whether meeting a clinician, volunteer, vendor providing services to the event or families impacted by this disease, everyone shares their energy and enthusiasm and so not only do I feel great about the cause, but I have a fun time at the event as well! I wish I could find more organizations that are able to combine these two elements as seamlessly as A Kids' Brain Tumor Cure.
I have volunteered to help with Geared Up For Kids, one of A Kids' Brain Tumor Cure's signature fundraising event for several years. Each and every year I am impressed by the passion that drives all involved with AKBTC to do everything they can to raise awareness about and funds for pediatric brain tumor research. Day in and day out, they are leading the charge to find less toxic treatments and cure for our children. Thank you!
The PLGA Foundation has served as a wonderful resource for my family. When we first discovered our daughter had a tumor, they were the first organization to provide us with some support.
We reached out to the PLGA Foundation 2 years ago because our son is a brain tumor survivor. They are very knowledgeable and willing to share knowledge on the latest research and treatments for low grade gloliomas, like our son had.
Their communication is prompt and friendly , and above average ! Thanks for everything, especially supporting our local efforts to raise money and awareness for pediatric brain tumors.
Targeting a cure for pediatric brain cancer is an aggressive goal, but one which A Kids' Brain Tumor Cure takes to heart. Bringing communities together (see photos) to raise funds and awareness about the disease has made a huge difference in the battle. Bringing about change is hard in any field, let alone a field that has in the past been abandoned by the research community, government, etc. But this small but determined group won't rest till all children can fight for their dreams, not for their lives. It is an honor to work for and with these folks. Together we can find more effective, less toxic treatments and a cure for children battling the #1 cause of cancer death in children.

Low administrative overhead and high return on research investment with new treatments in clinical trials as a result of funding from AKBTC. I can't think of a better equation which adds up, giving hope to children battling the most common forms of brain tumors. With brain tumors rising to the leading cause of cancer death in children, this organization should be a role model for other groups to take action.
A Kids Brain Tumor Cure / PLGA Foundation is an amazing organization raising money for research for this underfunded disease affecting children. My son and I have been volunteering with and donating to this organization for several years. You cannot find a more dedicated, compassionate, and hardworking group of individuals.
As a volunteer for PLGA for many years, I have seen firsthand the positive impact they have made in their community and the fight to find a cure for children's brain tumor. Keep up the awesome work!
I've been able to watch AKBTC grow over the last few years, and have greatly admired the thought and effort that goes into every little bit of planning for events and fundraisers.
Attended a packed Think Fit event with 350+ people that raised over $150,000 to benefit targeted pediatric brain cancer research! Great cause!
I know from personal experience how many people AKBTC helps each day. The organization supports parents in their darkest hours by working tirelessly to support innovative research and clinical trial options for children battling brain tumors. I cannot imagine what these parents would do without the support of AKBTC.
Our son was diagnosed at 19 months old with a brain tumor. It didn't take us long to decide that we wanted to give back to the brain tumor community in every way that we could. We were lucky enough to find A Kid's Brain Tumor Cure and with their support, we've raised almost $70,000 since 2014. We couldn't have done this without the support of our friends and families. We will never stop fundraising for a cure.
I have been involved with AKBTC for the last 7 years as a supporter and champion of raising awareness and funds for pediatric brain cancer research. I have found the foundation to be extremely transparent and goal-oriented. Their mission is clear: to find a cure for pediatric brain cancer, the #1 cause of cancer-related death in children. As a parent of a child who battled a brain tumor, I am intimately familiar with the current treatments for this disease. We desperately need less toxic and gentler treatments and a CURE for this heinous disease and I am forever grateful to AKBTC for leading the charge in funding treatment break-throughs.
I have been involved with a number of nonprofits that support the pediatric brain tumor community. This org goes far beyond what similar orgs have accomplished. It is extremely well run and has made unprecedented progress in brain tumor research. The board of directors are a very bright group who make effective decisions resulting in this progress.

Very professional organization. One of the first to use money raised for focused and targeted goals related to PLGA. Impressive Board and leadership.
This organization continues to build momentum in the research community drawing attention to the most common forms of childhood brain tumors. Making inroads in finding new, more effective treatments is the main mission and there are 3 new clinical trials opening to patients that would not otherwise have happened without the support of the amazing donors. Great organization with very very low overhead and very very high return on dollars invested! Congrats!
This is an amazing organization focused on research and family support. We have a little friend with a brain tumor and we are so happy to support this organization and it's mission.
A Kid's Brain Tumor Cure had been a source of information as well as giving us a great family experience at Camp Sunshine in Maine this summer to relax and also get the latest information on low grade gliomas. Most importantly , A Kid's Brain Tumor Cure is funding research that hopefully will stop my granddaughter's tumor from growing. It is hard to put into words just how much we appreciate their efforts to find a cure for Low Grade Gliomas! Thank you so much !
A Kids' Brain Tumor Cure means finding a home for this devastating disease, drawing attention to it--and racing against time, against odds, for the life of children who would be lost without it and sharing with their families in a way that enables all of us to care for each other.
The foundation has been very helpful for our family, through the knowledge it has provided to us, about JPA
This place is our home and these folks are our people. When our daughter was diagnosed in 2007 with a low grade glioma, we did not know what to do, who to turn to or what happened to us. It was like we were lost in a fog of severe pain, suffering and helplessness. AKBTC AKA PLGA back then, was a lifeline made up of families who understood, who offered hope and a fight to find that unconditional cure. That fight continues to go on today and is necessary to save our kids now and in the future. We are proud members & supporters of the AKBTC - PLGA foundation and always will be.
Our daughter is in the midst of her battle with a low grade glioma. The PLGA Foundation's support for families like ours is integral in the fight against low grade brain tumors both on the research front, in addition to providing respite for families. We are a little over two years removed from diagnosis and our quality of life has been dramatically improved by the efforts put forth by the members of the PLGA Foundation.
I find this organization really engages family and child in keeping them aware of less toxic treatments for brain cancer. They also sponsor a camp for the children during the summer for child and family. It provides a network for families who can relate and support each other during their struggles with their child's disease
An incredible three year old friend of our family has a brain tumor. We have been thrilled to support his parents fundraising efforts for this amazing organization that is so committed to research and improving the care of littlest patients.
A Kids Brain Tumor Cure Foundation has been raising funds and awareness to help find better treatment and a cure for children with brain tumors. Keep up the good work, and thank you, AKBTC Foundation!
My grandson was diagnosed at age 6 with a PLGA inoperable brain tumor. He is now 11 yrs old and the first year he was diagnosed my family and Tyler began our journey with this fabulous foundation. We have attended the fundraisers in Needham riding with other families to raise funds to help find cures and more effective treatments for these children. This is not only a fabulous foundation, it is also a family! It is doctors, researchers, kids battling this horrible disease, parents, grandparents, siblings, friends and others. We unite as one in our cause. We all support each other and the cause with the kids and the unified goal of finding new treatment for our children to live long lives and live their dreams. Please consider spreading the word about this wonderful foundation so more jump aboard this wonderful cause and help us find the cure.
A parent’s nightmare; a child with cancer – the dedicated staff at AKBTC work diligently to support these families and the researches who are looking for a cure.
Their dedication to patients and families is unparalleled. Its more than patient care or outcomes that they care about. It is about bringing together a community of support between loved ones, care givers and researchers where the whole exceeds the sum of its parts. Truly an exceptional organization.
As a parent of a child who survived 9 years with low grade glioma, I think AKBTC is the most important organization funding meaningful research into this orphan disease. I really appreciate all that they are doing to help cure a disease that robs children of so much.
My niece was diagnosed with an inoperable polycystic astrocytoma at 3 year years of age. My sister ran a marathon to raise over $25K among family and friends to sponsor other children in clinical research for a cure. This a great cause.
It's an honor to ride on a cycling team that directs all of its fundraising to such an important foundation that works hard everyday to find a cure to this specific type of pediatric cancer. Keep doing the great research work to help these children and there families.
Every child with a brain tumor, and every parent or loved one of that child hope for the day that a cure will save them. A Kid's Brain Tumor Cure is helping to keep that hope alive.
I am honored to be a Board Member of this stellar non-profit organization. The Scientific Advisory Board Members are leaders in their respective cancer-related fields and come from some of the most prestigious medical institutions around the country. Their guidance is helping design the strategic agenda for scientific research into the most common forms of children's brain tumors. Furthermore, the low administrative overhead means that virtually 100% of donor dollars reach the researchers. More funds means more research...which means more results. With 4 clinical trials funded in the past 8 years, this organization is truly making a difference and giving HOPE back to children who are battling brain cancer. All children should fight for their dreams, not for their lives.
Our daughter was diagnosed with 2 diffuse astrocytomas and we have been involved with AKBTC Foundation ever since, fundraising for the only foundation focused on LGG Research. They are amazing, professional and focused. Thank God for AKBTC Foundation!!
My son has a low grade glioma, and we do fundraisers for AKBTC every year. We feel great about the fact that 100% of the funds we raise go to finding a cure and are excited about the future possibilities based on the research AKBTC is funding.
My daughter was diagnosed with an inoperable low grade glioma at only 5 months of age. There was a time when I didn't know if we'd be able to celebrate her 5th birthday. A Kids Brain Tumor Cure is spreading hope and awareness by advocating in Washington for more federal funding for pediatric cancer and brain tumor research, by funding critical pre-clinical research and clinical trials, and conducting regular fundraisers to help channel funds to the most promising projects at major medical research universities across the globe.
The PLGA foundation is funding critical research, connecting families, expanding awareness and giving hope to children affected by life-threatening brain tumors. This team is not going to stop until the children that are described by others writing here have effective treatment options. They have a plan, they have doctors committed to the cause, and they are making a difference in the lives of the families they touch in the meantime.
A Kids Brain Tumor Cure / PLGA Foundation is an amazing organization raising money for research for this severely underfunded disease affecting children. The new technologies scientists are creating today should be available to all these children and this organization is helping to provide for that. The goal is to eradicate this disease and ensure the children affected are able to enjoy a normal childhood and better yet become healthy Adults with full lives - which they deserve. I LOVE working with this organization and especially with the passionate/driven people I work with through it.
The PLGA Foundation is committed to curing low grade childhood brain tumors and making new treatment options available for kids - and with their support, the researchers are actually making enormous progress. Their money is invested wisely - in top flight researchers and hard to fund projects. They've aleady brought new options to clinical trial and early research on new compounds looks promising.
A Kids's Brain Tumor Cure is a wonderful organization and we have enjoyed supporting them this past year. Besides the dollars raised supporting a great cause, they are passionate about their work and first class in every way . I hope you join me in donating to this organization and give kids that suffer from brain tumors a cure.

An AMAZING foundation! They focus on funding research to find better treatments and ultimately a cure. A very worthwhile place to donate money.
Our son was diagnosed with a medulloblastoma 6 years ago. He endured brain surgery, proton beam radiation and chemothereapy. Although it's hard to believe, he was one of the lucky ones. Today, he is a healthy and happy 12 year old.
We have witnessed first hand how devastating this diagnosis is on a child and the entire family. No child should have to endure the journey my son has endured. AKBTC paved the road for us to give back to other children not as fortunate as our son. AKBTC allows us to support cutting edge research that we are confident will make this world a kinder place for those children battling brain tumors. We are proud to join hands with this foundation, which dedicates every day to eradicating brain tumors in kids like our son. All children should have an opportunity to fight for their dreams, not for their lives.
Thank you AKBTC!
My daughter was diagnosed with a pilocytic astrocytoma 15 years ago. She is 16 years old and has spent the majority of those years on some sort of chemotherapy. The first year after diagnosis, she went through the only protocols available to treat her tumor with no success. At the age of 2 we were left with no choice but to radiate which allowed for a few years stability but also left her with many side effects. When the tumor started growing again the only choice we had was to put her on experimental protocols. A Kids' Brain Tumor Cure has been the driving force behind the funding of the research for many of those protocols. The foundation has also been a valuable resource for information and support over the years. The group strives to bring together researchers and create collaborations which is necessary if we are going to find a cure. I can say without a doubt that my daughter would not be here today if it wasn't for A Kids' Brain Tumor Cure.
With a focus on funding targeted scientific research to find more effective treatments and a cure, this Foundation prides itself on keeping overhead LOW to maximize the funds raised to support research. I appreciate this philosophy and am proud to support the organization because I know that my gifts are being put to good use!
Fantastic organization. If you're looking for bang for your buck this is the place. I've donated and raised thousands over the years and feel confident that the research their funding will help my child with a brain tumor and have seen results that of been astounding in a short period of time.
Two of my children have low grade glioma; one (my older daughter) has required treatment, one has not. When my older daughter was first diagnosed 10 years ago, there was NO organization dedicated to helping find a cure for her type of tumors. PLGA is the first organization to really focus on kids like my girls. Their work has been focused, well organized, and driven by parents who know first hand how much this research matters. In a remarkably short time this organization has made astounding progress in the battle to understand and out-fox low grade brain tumors.
In 2011 my daughter had tumor progression, and had to restart chemotherapy. She participated in a trial funded by PLGA. While the trial was not successful for my daughter, we gained a lot of hope knowing that FINALLY scientists were really working on NEW treatments for kids like my G--and that work was thanks to the efforts of PLGA. To have new drug trials is a huge step forward. PLGA can make that happen.
The work of PLGA IS making a difference, and we are so grateful for their efforts to give kids like mine a future. Thank you, PLGA.
What a super way to spend a morning! This event is so bright and cheerful, you can feel the happiness as everyone comes together to support children with brain tumors and finding a cure. There are a range of choices from walking to a short bike ride to a long intensive ride - and everyone can find the perfect way to celebrate being active, the start of spring, seeing good friends and every good thing. The festivitites are enjoyed by hundreds of riders and walkers in colorful T-shirts and is also graciously supported by doctors from Dana Farber plus the local Needham police, and many local vendors with free bike aid, all kinds of food and drink, and even rock climbing, art and bouncing around for the kids. The Kid's Brain Tumor Cure ride is a special moment to enjoy good health and an upbeat way to help those who have been struggling and deserve the encouragement of friends.
Helping kids fight for their dreams, not their lives -- is a passion of mine. I got involved with managing the redesign of the fightplga.org website some years ago where a team of us at work decided to do pro bono. I was hooked on the cause. Since then, I volunteer each year for the "Geared Up for Kids" event, fundraising, encouraging friends, family and work colleagues to participate. For the past two years, I have been responsible for coordinating all of the event's volunteers. It takes months of planning for the big day but it's all worth it -- an amazing experience to be there the day of the event. So much has been done over the past 5 years by Amy Weinstein and the Foundation in pushing the envelope on research funding, fundraising events throughout the U.S. and making a difference in the lives of innocent children. Research must be done to find a cure for the most common types of brain tumors in kids but least funded. This foundation is relentless in pushing for a cure.
